Founding Members: The 30 Families Who Believed First

Every company has a beginning. Ours started with 30 families who said "yes" to an idea that existed mostly on paper and in our hearts. This is their story — and a thank-you letter we've been waiting to write.

The Pitch That Almost Didn't Happen

In January 2026, I stood in my living room with a Google Slides presentation and a container of dal makhani I'd asked Lakshmi Aunty to prepare. I'd invited fifteen friends and family members. The pitch was simple: "What if you never had to worry about dinner again? What if it showed up at your door, every single day, tasting like your mother made it?"

The dal did most of the convincing. By the time people finished eating, I had twelve sign-ups. The other three signed up by the end of the week. Word spread, and within two weeks, we had 30 founding members — our initial capacity.

What Founding Members Get

Founding members locked in a $35/month flat fee (normally $50) that never increases, for life. They chose their meal plans, gave us their feedback, and in return, they got something money can't buy: the ability to shape a service from day one.

Every menu adjustment, every packaging change, every delivery improvement in our first month came from founding member feedback. They told us the raita container leaked (we fixed it in two days). They told us the roti was better when thicker (our cook agreed). They told us 7 PM was too late for families with young kids (we moved the window to 5–7 PM).

Stories From the First Month

The Sharma family — Priya and Arun, both working professionals with two kids under 8 — told us that before manadinner, they were ordering from three different delivery apps each week and spending over $1,400/month. "Now I spend $650 and I get better food. But the real change is evenings. I actually sit with my kids now."

Rahul, a software engineer living alone — "I used to eat cereal for dinner more than I'd like to admit. Now I eat dal, rice, sabzi, and raita. My energy levels changed within two weeks. My mom calls me less to ask if I'm eating properly, so that's a bonus."

Sunita and Arvind Patel, a retired couple — "We're on the Jain plan. Finding good Jain food outside our own kitchen was nearly impossible. Now we don't have to compromise. The food reminds us of home in Gujarat."

Deepika, a fitness enthusiast — "I was spending Sunday meal-prepping and still getting bored by Wednesday. Now every day is different. The macros are balanced. I stopped tracking calories because the food just makes sense."

Why They Stay

We asked founding members after 30 days: would you continue? The answer was unanimous. Not a single founding member has cancelled. When we asked why, the answers clustered around three themes:

1. It tastes like home. Not like a restaurant trying to taste like home. Actually like home. 2. It gave them time back. The most common number: 2–3 hours per day reclaimed. 3. It's reliable. Every day. On time. No bad meals. No surprises.

What This Means Going Forward

Our founding member slots are nearly full, but we're opening up regular subscriptions for everyone. The founding members built the foundation — their feedback shaped the service you'll experience when you sign up today. They were the first 30 families to believe that daily home-cooked Indian food, delivered to your door, could actually work.

They were right.

To our founding 30: thank you for trusting us before we'd proven anything. Every meal we deliver from here on out carries the standard you set. We won't let you down.
